Cultural and Literary Traditions of Balkans 03-AP-CLTB-I

Course learning content:
- presentation of culture/ literature of countries on the Balkan Peninsula in chronological and typological approach on the basic level; showing crucial phenomena and directions of development,
- presentation of contexts of cultural and literary traditions of countries on the Balkan Peninsula on the basic level,
- presentation of cultural/literary connections between countries on the Balkan Peninsula with Eastern and Western civilization circles on the basic level.

Cele kształcenia

Course aims: - interpersonal: creating ability of critical evaluation of cultural phenomena and processes; skill at evaluating cultural and multi-cultural diversity; skill at combining interdisciplinary knowledge in the field of theory of culture, cultural anthropology and religious studies; forming skill at debating in a group, - instrumental: basic knowledge in the field of literatures and cultures of countries on the Balkan Peninsula; skill at analyzing and synthesizing, - systemic: ability to work independently; research skills; ability to construct longer oral statement; skill at writing term paper.

Metody prowadzenia zajęć umożliwiające osiągnięcie założonych EK

Lecture with a multimedia presentation, interactive lecture, problem-based lecture, discussions, text-based work, project work, demonstration and observation, sound and/or video demonstration.

Efekty kształcenia

On successful completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- define and describe basic phenomena, traditions and contexts of cultures/literatures of countries on the Balkan Peninsula,
- connect, describe and qualify these phenomena, traditions and contexts,
- get skill at creating cultural and historical-literary synthesis and at finding phenomena and references in cultural texts,
- get skill at categorizing and contextualizing specific cultural and literary phenomena of countries on the Balkan Peninsula connecting them with analogous phenomena in other European cultures/literatures,
- compile knowledge, acquired during the classes; develop, explain and reconstruct cultural/literary phenomena in relation to other civilization circles,
- get skill at comparing cultural/literary phenomena and at formulating conclusions, explaining and interpreting these phenomena in wider historical-literary, political, historical, ideological context,
- analyze independently, interpret and evaluate creatively cultural/literary texts.

Kryteria oceniania

Assessment criteria:

very good (bdb; 5,0): excellent familiarity with problems discussed during the classes; very good skills at analyzing and interpreting literary texts; very good ability to express verbally and in writing opinion on South Slavonic literature.

good plus (+db; 4,5): as above, except for minor deficiencies and inaccuracies.

good (db; 4,0): possible larger scale of deficiencies: weaker skills at analyzing, interpreting and at expressing verbally and in writing opinion on South Slavonic literature.

satisfactory plus (+dst; 3,5): satisfactory familiarity with problems discussed during the classes; average skills at analyzing and interpreting literary texts; satisfactory ability to express verbally and in writing opinion on South Slavonic literature.

satisfactory (dst; 3,0): as above, except for minor deficiencies and inaccuracies.

unsatisfactory (ndst; 2,0): unsatisfactory familiarity with problems discussed during the classes.
