British and American political systems 15-AIASP-KAA-11
This course is designed to equip students with the terminology and understanding of British and American political institutions. The first part of the course focuses on the development of British monarchy, constitution, Westminster system, PM office and cabinet. The second part is devoted to the development and structure of American federalism and political institutions (President, Congress, Supreme Court), constitutional arrangements, checks and balances and state institutions. To successfully complete the course students are expected to prepare various reading assignments, participate in classroom discussions and take a number of quizzes.
