Professional status:
Graduates of the Bachelor's Degree in Teaching mathematics and computer science are familiar with the specificity of mathematics and computer science as a field of science and as a subject to teach. They have competences in the basic fields of: mathematics (including algebra, mathematical analysis, geometry, logic and set theory) and computer science (including algorithmics, programming, computer graphics, Internet technologies), are familiar with the history, cultural context and meaning of these fields of science.
They are familiar with the theoretical issues in the field of pedagogy, psychology, didactics and the methodology of teaching mathematics and computer science necessary to implement the tasks and challenges posed by the contemporary schools. The graduates are prepared for planning in theoretical and practical sense, for conducting and evaluating lessons. They know the concepts of school-taught mathematics and computer science and can present various methods of teaching them, which are possible at the given stage of education, using various tools, methods and forms of classwork.
The graduates of this faculty are prepared to undertake master's studies heading for the job as teachers of mathematics and computer science in schools.
