Elizabethan and Jacobean Theatre and Drama 15-DTCPKE-TD-11
This course will give students the most important information about drama and theatre during the Elisabethan and Jacobean rule in England. The students will get acquainted with the most important works, playwrights and processes of the period. They will also be introduced to the key theatrical terms relevant to the period in question, they will get some basic knowledge as to the major playhouses created during that period as well as their structure and stage practices employed. During this course students will also have a chance to analyse the most important dramatic works of the period, including these of Christopher Marlowe, William Shakespeare, Ben Johnson as well as some anonymous plays of the epoch.
Credits will be awarded on the basis of class participation and a written test.
