This course offers an overview of South African world of economy and business, especially as one of the BRICS countries. It focuses on the opportunities and challenges related to South African specifics and presents them in a global context. It discusses South African economic development and programmes, presents South African companies and their share in the South African and global markets, as well as the presence of international entrepreneurship in South Africa. It stresses the inter-relationship between the South African and other world economies.
