Learning outcomes
After the course the student:
Understands main ideas of standard written texts whose topics discuss those aspects of life that they are familiar with, e.g. school, work, free time
Understands relatively simple and coherent spoken utterances which discuss the topics they are familiar with or interested in
Can express their opinions and justify them briefly
Can talk about various events and experiences
Can write a short paragraph in which they express their views on topics that they are familiar with
Is able to pronounce English phonemes correctly and use correct word stress/intonation
Moreover, students are familiar with the main cultural aspects of major English speaking countries
Assessment criteria
In order to get credit for the classes students have to:
- pass all the tests
- prepare and present speeches
- submit written assignments (paragraphs and letters)
- submit homework
The final grade for the course depends on the final examination result and the final class grade (for both semesters).
Students are allowed to have 2 unexcused absences per term
