Chemistry of the cell 02-CKOMBL
The aim of the subject is to provide knowledge of the structure and mechanism of action of the cell of living organism (plant and animal) in view of chemical processes taking place in its organelles. LEARNING OUTCOMES. On completion of the course students should have knowledge and understanding of chemical processes taking place in organelles of the cell, particularly those involve with expression of the genes (transcription and translation) and molecular basis of formation of cancer cells. Moreover, students should posses skills to perform basic experiments involved with microscopic examination of the cells and their organelles, isolations of enzymes and nucleic acids and other biologically active compounds for example amino acids or monosaccharides.
