Efekty kształcenia
Upon completion of the course, the student will:
describe the theoretical and practical issues concerning globalization and Europeanization of education (incl. nation-state competences and migration)
explain the educational aspects of the free movement of persons in the European Union (incl. the right of access to education, the student mobility, free movement in teaching profession and the recognition of diplomas and professional qualifications)
explain differences between various Community (EU) educational programmes, know their aims and scope, as well as their impact on national educational systems of EU member states
describe the historical development of the Community (EU) education and training policy and place it in the broader geopolitical context
use the EU-recognized terminology in the area of education (incl. ISCED classification, OECD benchmarks in education, Bologna process terminology)
critically analyze Eurydice publications and official EU documents (e.g. Commissions recommendations), as well as other international organizations' reports (e.g. educational publications of the IEA, OECD or WTO)
Kryteria oceniania
Contact hours with the teacher as specified in the programme
Independent study – reading at home and preparing for seminars
Preparation of the main asignment – the multi-media presentation (ppt)
Assessment criteria
formative assessment: classroom discussion; text rendering, case-law analysis, preparation of the ppt presentation
Final ppt presentations during seminars
A/5: excellent work showing an unassisted work based on an extensive source search joined with a critical approach to the chosen texts and ability to present the analysis in historical and theoretical context.
B/4+: very good performance joining an independent interpretation with an ambition to put the analyzed texts within broader contexts.
C/4: good work and an analysis based on a sound sources chosen carefully and read critically.
D/3+: satisfactory analysis presenting ability to use knowledge gathered during the course although based mostly on critical assumptions done by the scholars in the field.
E/3: sufficient work showing engagement in the chosen project yet with significant shortcomings and lack of will to use broader contexts.
F/2: failing the task of analysis by presenting a paper beyond academic standards, showing lack of ability to use analytic techniques taught during the course.
