Język i kultura Basków 09-JKB-SZ-SNJL-11

The main aim of this course will be learning Basque language, while dealing with cultural, sociolinguistic and geographic issues in a transversal manner.
We will learn to communicate in Basque in a basic level: introduce ourselves and introduce others, make brief descriptions of people and places, learn how to give and ask for directions and talk about our families.
At the same time, the students will be invited to take part in the cultural and academic activities organized by the Etxepare Basque Institut in this university and in others around the world.
Finally, every year one fully paid scholarship is offered to spend 12 days in a barnetegi, where students will be able to learn Basque while experiencing the gastronomy and customs in the Basque Country. A single scholarship is also offered to carry out a bachelor's thesis on a subject related to the Basque language or culture.

Metody prowadzenia zajęć umożliwiające osiągnięcie założonych EK

A competency-based methodology will be used, which entails a rational and practical organization of the teaching-learning resources and processes. Acquiring knowledge is necessary, but not sufficient. Being competent requires mobilizing and transferring the knowledge acquired in a comprehensive way. For this reason, the didactic organization of each unit will be as follows: location and exploration activities, planning activities, development phase and final phase. In the final phase, students will carry out written and oral productions using new audiovisual technologies, in addition to traditional formats, taking advantage of the different spaces that are offered to present these communications: meetings, magazines and forums of the University, activities organized by the Etxepare Institute, cultural centers of the city, forums with other people who learn Basque in Universities around the world or with participants from associations and institutions of the Basque Country, artists and experts ... In addition, activities related to literature, music, bersolarism and in general, topics related to Basque culture will be organized, whenever possible, with the participation of guests from the Basque Country. On the other hand, the classes will be based on dialogue and participation, taking into account the four basic competences: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written expression and oral expression. Literary or essay texts will be read and dialogical meetings will be organized for their discussion. Finally, we have some scholarships to enjoy 12 days with all expenses paid in a barnetegi, where you can learn Basque at the same time as you experience the gastronomy and customs of the place.

Kryteria oceniania

The final evaluation will be a maximum of 5 points, with 3 being the minimum necessary to pass the course.
The final exam will be worth 70% of the total.
Partial exams and exercises that will be collected by the teacher periodically will be worth 30% of the total grade.

Literatura

The reference book will be Arian A1.1 which is composed of a student book, an exercise book and a CD.
Use will also be made of the ikasten.ikasbil.eus website and especially, at this level, of the Aisa online course.
In addition, exercises and readings from other sources will be used, such as IKA or HABE.
Music will also have its little space.
