Cultural Role of Greece and Italy Tours 03-AP-CRG
Course learning content:
- journeys in antiquity, their conditions and function in culture and evolution throughout ages,
- discussing travelling symbols in culture and literature,
- place of Italy and Greece in the grand tours,
- influence of the grand tours upon English and culture and that of other peoples,
- journeys to Italy and Greece as inspiration of literature and art.

Efekty kształcenia
On successful completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- provide a detailed account and analysis of claims made in a range of primary texts referring to journeys to Greece and Italy,
- determine symbolical function of such journeys,
- apply these in order to interpret specific character of Greek and Italian culture,
- describe the role of journey relation in European literature, especially Polish,
- describe the relation between Roman and Greek tradition with tourism and touristic industry.

Grade system:
very good (bdb; 5,0): Excellent (over 92% of points) knowledge of the role and conditions of Greece and Italy tours and their effects on European and Polish culture.
good plus (+db; 4,5): Very good (84–91%) knowledge of the role and conditions of Greece and Italy tours and their effects on European and Polish culture.
good (db; 4,0): Good (76–83%) knowledge of the role and conditions of Greece and Italy tours and their s effects on European and Polish culture.
satisfactory plus (+dst; 3,5): Average (68–75%) knowledge of the role and conditions of Greece and Italy tours and their effects on European and Polish culture.
satisfactory (dst; 3,0): Sufficient (60–67%) knowledge of the role and conditions of Greece and Italy tours and their effects on European and Polish culture.
unsatisfactory (ndst; 2,0): Poor (less than 60%) knowledge of the role and conditions of Greece and Italy tours and their effects on European and Polish culture.
