Professional status:
The graduate of the master’s programme in European Communication possesses thorough knowledge in the domain of the humanities, in the fields of culture and religion sciences, particularly where they are concerned with interpersonal communication, language, functioning of the traditional media and the internet. The graduate understands the principles governing various public institutions, especially their cultural and institutional background.
As part of the specialization Culture in the Media, the graduate has acquired knowledge and skills in analyzing and interpreting cultural phenomena and their representation in the media. They have the ability to critically evaluate media content, understand its impact on audiences and successfully utilize various forms of media communication.
Graduates in European Communication have the skill to apply the acquired knowledge in practice. They are able to build interpersonal relationships at the juncture of cultures, using state-of-the-art means of communication skilfully and effectively. Thanks to open, interdisciplinary education, they possess the competence to work in creative teams, to manage or build such teams (e.g. start-ups). They also have the competences which facilitate building effective interpersonal relationships indirect and media interactions, in private and professional circumstances, in culturally diverse environments. Intercultural dialogue building skills enable the graduates to find employment with public institutions and in companies were cultural communication is an important element. The knowledge they possess enables them to apply with cultural institutions, online and traditional media, as well as with advertising and public relations agencies. They will have been prepared to engage in the latest professions functioning in the media space (blogger, influencer, app creator etc.). The knowledge, skills and competences that the graduates have acquired enable them to understand that dynamically changing global workplace and find rewarding employment. Graduates of the master’s programme are ready to embark on a doctoral project as well as to learn continually, acquiring knowledge, skills and competences which are necessary for further intellectual and scholarly development.
