Professional status:

Graduating in ethnology and cultural anthropology (MA programme) prepares one to work in cultural and educational institutions; museums; tourist institutions; the media; and in institutions conducting public surveys (advertisement, marketing, public relations). A graduate is also prepared to work in institutions and offices where specialists in social and cultural matters are required – in administration, local governments, non-governmental organizations. Additionally, completing a teaching specialization enables her to work in education. She is trained to conduct (scientific) research and able to continue her education on the doctoral level. Outcomes of teaching: A graduate in 2-year MA programme in anthropology has an advanced expertise in social sciences, as well as knowledge and skills in the field of: - cultural anthropology, theory of culture, anthropological analysis and anthropological interpretation of social and cultural processes; - cultural phenomena, organisation and functioning of culture, meaning of its elements and historical variability, as well as in ethnocultural diversity of the world; - terms, ideas and concepts used in social and cultural anthropology, and in other studies of culture and society; - independent designing and using typical ethnographic methods and research techniques; collecting, working out and interpreting empirical data.
