Professional status:
A graduate of the Archaeometry program possesses in-depth and interdisciplinary knowledge in the natural sciences, enabling the analysis and investigation of cultural heritage objects. They are well-prepared to work in research laboratories, museums, conservation institutes, archaeological units, academic centers, as well as in institutions dedicated to the protection and documentation of cultural heritage.
The graduate is capable of independently conducting both laboratory and fieldwork using modern analytical techniques such as spectrometry, microscopy, isotopic dating, and non-destructive methods (e.g., tomography, X-ray fluorescence). They are able to interpret and quantitatively describe physicochemical phenomena occurring in archaeological materials and to assess their state of preservation.
Throughout their studies, the graduate acquires knowledge of ancient material technologies (including ceramics, metals, glass, and pigments), degradation processes, conservation methods, and legal regulations concerning heritage protection and intellectual property. They also develop competencies in the application of statistical and computational methods in archaeometric analyses and in designing safe and efficient laboratory workspaces.
A graduate of the Archaeometry program is also skilled in interdisciplinary collaboration and in communicating research results both within academic environments and in interactions with cultural institutions and the wider public.
