Professional status:

The graduate possesses the following knowledge, skills and competences: -general pedagogical, historical, philosophical, sociological and psychological knowledge necessary to understand the processes and contexts of education, upbringing, support and care, and to implement its directives into practice oriented at broadly understood prevention and social rehabilitation; -skills to identify, diagnose and solve problems in the field of broadly understood prevention and social rehabilitation, both in the local environment and in closed institutions; -competences to use acquired knowledge and skills in professional practice and to develop their own methodological competences; -extensive knowledge of social structures which may become support in designing and implementing tasks related to the prevention of social maladjustment and social rehabilitation; -praxeological, communication, social, creative, ethical and moral as well as information and technological skills necessary for professional work; -teamwork skills and skills to become an animator and mentor in schools and in local environment; -skills to assess the usefulness of selected methods and techniques and to use them in specific strategies of educational activities; -competence to forecast the effects of undertaken tasks and to modify activities if they do not bring the expected results; -knowledge of legal acts in force in a given field, the ability to analyse, correctly interpret and apply them in practice; -competences to act in accordance with the ethical principles and legal standards derived from legal acts in force in a given field. Professional status The graduate is qualified to work as an educator in schools, dormitories, correctional facilities and shelters for minors, youth educational centres and youth social therapy centres, Voluntary Labour Corps, care and educational institutions and day support centres. The graduate is qualified to work as a family assistant and foster care coordinator. After meeting the appropriate internal procedures, the graduate may work in institutions of social control and justice, such as the Police and the Prison Service, as well as in institutions designed to protect internal security and the constitutional order of the state. The graduate - after meeting the statutory requirements - may apply for the position of a social probation officer. The graduate is also qualified to work in foundations, organisations and associations dealing with prevention, social rehabilitation and readaptation of socially maladjusted persons, as well as educational work with children and youth, and the activation of local communities. The graduate possesses teaching qualifications.
