Professional status:
A graduate of the first degree studies in the field of Economy and Economics in History has comprehensive knowledge about the next stages of economic and civilization development in the world, the history of economic thought and contemporary economic theories as well as social, political and cultural conditions influencing economic processes. It is a solid basis for the analysis of contemporary economic and social processes as well as for the formulation of forecasts, decision-making and, as a result, shaping the contemporary economic and social life.
In addition to extensive knowledge of economic history and basic knowledge in the field of economics and the history of economic thought, the graduate of the field of study Economy and Economics in History has the skills to collect, analyse and interpret economic and social data in the long-time perspective. She or he also has the ability to analytically, independently and autonomously think as well as work individually and in a team.
Consequently, a graduate of the first cycle studies in the field of Economy and Economics in History has the necessary qualifications allowing to take up work in various professions requiring humanistic and social knowledge. She or he is prepared to choose an occupation requiring independent thinking, analysing, synthesizing and constructive inference, as well as the ability to communicate, negotiate and persuade, incl. as a market and financial analyst, a specialist in data collection and processing in production and service companies, an employee of the banking and financial sector, public administration (government and local government) and an employee of the media and marketing companies. The Economy and Economics in History also prepares people to start independent economic activity.
A graduate of this field of study acquires command of a foreign language at the B2 fluency level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and is able to use it practically. After completing the first degree studies, she or he obtains a bachelor’s degree and is prepared to undertake second cycle studies.
