Professional status:

In comparison with the graduates of the first cycle studies, graduates of the second cycle are equipped with enhanced knowledge of the civilisational issues of the contemporary world, and Europe in particular, and are familiar with the mechanisms according to which the European Union as well as the whole European continent functions. Graduates are well prepared, having both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, that allow them to independently solve problems at work, also in extraordinary or non-standard situations. They are also capable of issuing opinions based on incomplete or limited information without infringing upon human rights and maintaining ethical, economic and legal standards. Graduates have the necessary skills needed to procure necessary information, formulate opinions in writing, communicate on professional matters with other professionals and non-professionals, and organise, supervise or lead team work as well as manage work of others. The are prepared to take up positions and work independently in organs of public administration, at the state and local authorities level, national and international organisations, organs of the European Union, companies operating in and collaborating with the EU, cultural and educational centres, in the publishing field, the mass media and educational institutions (provided that the complete the prescribed teacher training course). Graduates are also equipped with the knowledge necessary to fill in and process EU grant applications and administer EU funds. Finally, graduates are used to continuously upgrade knowledge, learn more and improve professionally, and are prepared to meet occupational and research challenges as well as continue studies at the third cycle level (PhD).
