Professional status:

A graduate from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań who has completed the first cycle of ”European law studies” holds a vocational title of licencjat (equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree). The teaching objective of the first cycle of studies is to prepare graduates for work in units of government administration, national and international organisations including EU institutions, as well as in enterprises and organisations collaborating with the European Union Member States. They may also find employment in cultural institutions, publishing houses and the mass media. Graduates have general interdisciplinary knowledge which includes European Union law and policies. They are therefore able to understand and analyse social and political processes taking place locally, within a state or region, or on a global scale. They are familiar with the history as well as the legal, economic and political principles underlying the organisation and functioning of European societies. They are also familiar with the structures and mechanisms of the European Union, the essential elements of European law, the EU economic integration and the main EU policies. Graduates are capable of offering solutions to problems of a basic level of technicality, they can collate and process information (orally and in writing), and work in a team. They also have good command of two foreign languages at B2 level, which includes specialist language of law, politics, business and sociology. They are well prepared to undertake second cycle studies.
