The graduate has general pedagogical, historical-philosophical, sociological and psychological knowledge, necessary to understand the processes and contexts of education, upbringing, support and care, as well as to implement its directives to practice oriented towards widely understood prevention and resocialization. He/she identifies, diagnoses and solves problems in the scope of widely understood prevention and resocialization, both in the local environment and in closed institutions. He/she is able to use the acquired knowledge and skills in professional practice and develop his/her own methodological competences. The graduate has extensive knowledge about social structures that can become partners in the design and implementation of tasks related to resocialization. He/she possesses competences necessary for professional work: praxeological, communicational, social, creative, ethical and moral, as well as information and technology. The graduate is able to work in a team, taking on different roles; he/she is an animator and mentor for his/her pupils and the local community. The graduate is able to assess the usefulness of selected methods and techniques, inscribing them into specific pedagogical action strategies. He/she predicts the effects of tasks undertaken by him/her, modifies actions if they do not bring the expected results. The graduate acts in accordance with the ethical principles and legal standards contained in legal acts pertaining to a given field, the content of which can be analyzed, interpreted and applied correctly.
After completing the educational cycle, the graduate may take up a job as a pedagogue in schools, boarding schools, correctional facilities and youth hostels, youth educational centers and youth sociotherapy centers, OHP structures, care and educational centers, day support centers. . He/she possesses competences to work as a family assistant and coordinator of foster care. Having undergone appropriate internal procedures, a graduate may take up employment in institutions of social control and justice administration, such as the Police and the Prison Service, as well as in institutions dealing with ensuring the internal security of the state and its constitutional order. After fulfilling the statutory requirements, a graduate may apply for the position of social curator. He/she is also qualified to work in foundations, organizations and associations dealing with prevention, resocialization and social readaptation of socially maladjusted people, educational work with children and adolescents, activation of local communities.
