Professional status:

The graduate should possess basic knowledge of the language, literature and culture of the selected language, accompanied by an ability to apply this knowledge in professional and personal life according to ethical principles. He/She should demonstrate near-native competence in one selected foreign language on level C1, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. He/She should also be able to use the specialist language necessary in his/her profession and demonstrate interdisciplinary competencies vital to the practical application of linguistic knowledge in various academic and social areas of life. He/She should be able to solve professional problems, collect, transform and transfer information (in the written and oral form) and collaborate with others. The acquired skills and abilities should enable him/her to work for publishing companies, magazine editorial offices, the media, tourism and the service sector, where an extensive knowledge of language and culture is required. The graduate should be prepared to enter the master's programme.
