Professional status:

A graduate of the master's program in the field of social work possesses specialist knowledge and competences enabling him to function effectively as a social worker, in particular as the organizer of social services. The graduate is prepared to independently perform the tasks assigned to the modern role of the organizer of services, has knowledge about the complex structure of the social world and is able to diagnose the mechanisms of social processes and phenomena taking the form of social problems. The graduate can use the theoretical achievements of social work and analyze empirical data referring to theoretical concepts and models. In particular, s/he can design programs for solving social problems. The graduate is prepared to take up work in all types of social welfare institutions and in social organizations dealing with social problems, both in the public sector (government and local government administration), and in the so-called third sector (non-governmental organizations). The graduate is prepared to independently create new forms of social services and social organizations serving the needs in the local environment. The graduate is prepared to undertake third-cycle (doctoral) studies.
