Professional status:

The student who has completed an undergraduate degree in Humanities at school. Teaching Polish and history has acquired a comprehensive knowledge of the language, history and culture, along with a working knowledge of the psychological, pedagogical and didactic procedures. Having successfully completed the programme, the graduate is entitled to work as a teacher of Polish and History in primary school. Psychological and pedagogical knowledge and competence lay the foundations for a comprehensive attainment of tasks pertaining to socialisation and care. Knowledge and competence in the field of didactics lay the foundations for a comprehensive attainment of objectives and targets pertaining to education in the field of History and Polish. The graduate shows the capacity for effective communication, negotiation and persuasiveness. The graduate has acquired fluency in a foreign language at B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, as adopted by the Council of Europe. Humanistic knowledge, knowledge and skills in the field of teaching, psychology and pedagogy and a working knowledge of at least one foreign language lay the foundations for further professional development. Computer literacy acquired through the studies has equipped the graduate with competence in information technologies and the capacity to use them in the teaching process. Owing to a significant number of written assignments, the graduate demonstrates great writing proficiency and is able to efficiently express his/her thoughts in writing. The graduate has obtained the capacity to employ knowledge and skills in the field of general didactics, the didactics of history and the didactics of the Polish language, which permit an effective attainment of tasks pertaining to education, such as assisting students in the development of their cognitive interests and their intellectual development, the capacity to evaluate students’ achievements and his/her own practice. The graduate can accurately assess the abilities of his/her students and turn his/her knowledge into effective practice in order to achieve the objectives set out in the National Curriculum for the Polish language and history in primary school. Having completed teaching training practice, the graduate has acquired competence in the field of psychology, pedagogy and teaching. The graduate has acquired necessary knowledge and competence to undertake master’s degree studies in Humanities at school. Teaching Polish and history, Polish philology and History.
