Methods for Public Policy Research 24-SODU-MPU
The course is designed to present methods of public policy research. Public policies are treated as the specific object of study where social sciences methodology is used. The course shows provides types of public policies from different perspectives - from EU to local policies. Difficutiles associated with public policy research, different policy goals and areas are covered. Students learn about primary approaches and research techniques used in the study of policies, along with their limitations. They are informed about indicators, data collection process and practical application of research findings.

02 is aware of differences between various theoretical and methodological positions in contemporary sociology, is aware of the complexity of the changes in social structures and institutions.
03 has in-depth knowledge of chosen methods and techniques of social research, its limitations, and specific areas of application, is aware of reflective and critical approaches to social studies, knows various methods, procedures and analysis; Can use categories and theoretical research methods to describe and analyze social change in modern societies;
04 has in-depth knowledge of selected organizations and institutions responsible for the transmission of norms and rules in society has a profound knowledge of the functioning of the economy and its relationship with other social institutions;
05 has in-depth knowledge of the processes underlying stability and social change, as well as a reflective and critical in their interpretation;
06 has in-depth knowledge of the current needs and problems of the Polish society and developments in this field.
