Performances 20-WI-f-11-EtnU
Classes will be held according to the general scenario. We'll look at around seven social shows. They will stay with everyone
dedicated to two meetings. The first will be empirical and illustrative (we will work on empirical materials
collected by students, existing materials, e.g. audiovisual, press articles, literature, art). At the second meeting
we will attempt to analyze and interpret a given social spectacle by referring to various concepts, methodologies and theories
in the field of socio-cultural anthropology.

After completing the course the student:
1. Knows anthropological theories and analytical categories applicable to social performances
2. Is able to analyze and interpret social performances from an anthropological perspective
3. Can carry out empirical / ethnographic mini-studies on social performances
4. Can describe the contemporary and historical significance of social performances
5. Understands social changes and the dynamics of modern social life
6. Is aware of the performative and multi-sensory aspect of social performances
Assessment criteria
Classes end with a credit with a grade. The assessment will cover:
- presence and activity in class (participation in discussions, conversing)
- preparation for classes (implementation of mini-tests, queries, preparation of appropriate audiovisual materials)
- substantive and technical level of prepared presentations / reports on a selected social spectacle
- creativity and cooperation with the teacher conducting the classes and other participants in the classes
