Methodology of Cultural Studies Research (in English – 30 h lecture)
The course is oriented towards acquisition of basics of knowledge about the role of methods of social and cultural studies research and their influence in social life. The student develops orientation in basic concepts, tools and methods of cultural research and in practice of planning, conducting of research project, analysis and interpretation of data. The course prepares to interprete data and present results of research projects and also developes ability of critical thinking in reception and interpretation of the data from social and cultural research.

Module learning aims

1. acquisition of basics of knowledge about the role of methods of social research and their influence of their results in social life 2. acquisition of elementary knowledge about the structure and phases of the research process 3. development of orientation in basic concepts, tools and methods of cultural research 4. development of experience in practice of planning, conducting of research project, analysis and interpretation of data 5. acquisition of experience in interpretation of data and presentation of results of cultural research 6. development of ability of critical thinking in reception and interpretation of the social research results

2. KUDU-MA-MET zna i rozumie aktualne orientacje metodologiczne we współczesnej humanistyce, których osiągnięcia potrafi aplikować do badań nad kulturą
3. KUDU-MA-MET Potrafi samodzielnie przeprowadzać badania nad sformułowanym przez siebie problemem na etapach: doboru metod i narzędzi badawczych oraz opracowania i prezentacji wyników
4. KUDU-MA-MET Jest gotów do pogłębiania kompetencji kulturowych współczesnego człowieka w warunkach komunikacji międzykulturowej, spotkania różnych tradycji i sposobów życia
