Introduction to simultaneous interpreting 15-WDTS-TK-11

This course aims at developing student’s simultaneous interpreting skills. Students are taught how to listen to the message, process it, prepare for delivery and deliver the message in a simple and communicative way. Shadowing, delayed decalage, sight translation and other techniques in a variety of combinations are used to train students how to cope with typical conference situations - disorganised speakers, fast speakers, foreign accents, numbers and proper names, lists and the like. The skills of interpreting from B into A and from A into B are practised.
