Introduction to international organisations 15-WDOM-JIK-11
The course focuses on the theoretical framework, history, typology, structure, functional characteristics and terminology of different international organizations. The main subject areas discussed during the lectures include the structure and the role of the UN in the modern world and the effects of various IOs, e.g. NATO, the Commonwealth, the Council of Europe, international courts, etc. on the geopolitical situation. To successfully complete the course students are required to take active part in class discussions, prepare and deliver a multimedia presentation on an intergovernmental organization (IGO) or international non-governmental organization (INGO) of their choice, and take the final test.
