This course introduces the students to the legal language on the example of contracts. First, students are familiarized with the basics concepts of contract law in Poland and English speaking countries with focus on differences and similarities. The core of the course is translation of contracts, starting from preamble, through standard clauses and final provisions. Students learn how to use parallel texts – bilingual contracts and templates – when translating contracts into Polish and English.
