Translation of marketing texts 15-TTMAR-TP-11
The course focuses on the translation of marketing texts, such as: slogans, punch lines, leaflets, printed ads, TV ads. The aims of the course are following: to acquaint students with the stylistic and linguistic features of marketing texts; to acquaint students with the strategies that can be used in the translation of function/ marketing texts; to draw students' attention to the question of manipulation in translation; to let students practise free translation/ creation; most importantly, to make students practise written translation a lot. In order to get a positive grade in this course, each student has to complete a number of translation tasks at home and during the classes and pass the final test. Knowledge of Polish (C2) is required of anyone willing to attend the course.
