Audiovisual translation (subtitling) 15-TAWN-TP-11
An introductory course to audiovisual translation, with a special focus on subtitling. The students learn the theoretical and technical guidelines of subtitling and learn to apply them in practice in various audiovisual contexts (e.g. subtitling of humorous materials, songs, multilingual content). Students learn to operate subtitling software and practice subtitling both in class and at individually. The course involves group collaboration and individual projects, as well as presentations on assigned AVT topics delivered by the students. Final evaluation is based on active participation in class, theoretical test and an individual subtitling project.
