Specialized vocabulary 4 (law and business) 15-SSPIE-TLU-11
The main objective of the course is to develop students’ vocabulary in the field of business and law and to improve their background knowledge of legal and economic matters.
The topics covered in class include: (1) the legal profession, (2) courts and court proceedings, (3) births, deaths and marriages, (4) criminal law, (5) employment, (6) intellectual property & pay, (7) banking, (8) accounting and taxes, (9) mortgages and debts, (10) companies and company law.
Students are assessed on the basis of the final test, short quizzes, translation assignments, and class participation. Course materials are available on the Moodle platform.
