Upon successfully completing this course, the Student will:
1. have a good understanding of the features of Australian and New Zealand English (ANZE) at all levels of linguistic structure.
2. be able to place those features in the broader context of linguistic variation within English.
3. have a developing understanding of the social aspects of linguistic variation.
4. have some familiarity with the methodologies of variationist research in linguistics.
