(First semester of Dutch as a foreign language classses for 1BA. Continued as 15-PNJN-1BA-22.)
This is a two-semester course that consists of three components (1. The course book, 2. Grammar, 3. Speaking and writing). The course aims at developing basic communicative skills (both oral and written) in Dutch. After completing the course, students will be able to introduce themselves and hold a basic conversation, ask and give basic information about themselves, their families and other people, discuss leisure interests, the weather, time, health, places and plans, discuss past events, what they did and what other people did, tell what happened in a particular order, express an opinion using adjectives, ask for something and express a need, describe how someone/something looks. Students will also be able to use the following grammatical structures: present tense, possessive pronouns, past tense, imperfect tense, future tense, the indefinite and definite article, commands, etc. The evaluation includes grammar and vocabulary tests and oral tests, monitoring of student's work in the classroom and the final exam consisting of a written and oral part after the summer semester. In order to take the exam at the end of the academic year, the student must complete all three components of the course in the winter and in the summer semester. The exam is considered passed if the student obtains at least 61% of both parts.
