Irish as a foreign language 15-PNJIRL-CE-34
(First semester of a two-semester course. Continued as 15-PNJIRL-CE-44 in the second semester.)
Students will continue to use the textbook, Gaeilge gan Stró (Beginners Level), during this course. They will study vocabulary associated with the media, employment, hobbies, and food. Other materials will also be made use of, including television, audio materials, and song. This course requires intensive vocabulary study as students will be called upon to make practical written and oral use of their growing language skills. Students will also study personal prepositions, verbs, and syntax at a lower intermediate level. At the end of the course, students should be able to express their opinions on a wide range of simple topics with confidence and ease. Regular study is required of students in order to make steady progress with the language.
