English as a foreign language 15-PNJA-NID-16
(First semester of a two-semester course. Continued as 15-PNJA-NID-26 in the second semester.)
This course for intermediate learners focuses both on spoken and written language, and encompasses such components as grammar, writing, vocabulary and conversation. Weekly lessons consist of a unit in the course book, together with a prepared oral presentation by the student connected with the topic of the unit. Discussed topics range from business to culture, travelling, hobbies etc. Further material includes grammar exercises and additional vocabulary. The aim of the course is to enable students to be competent on a B2 English level.
Evaluation: Students are evaluated throughout the semester by doing oral in-class presentations, written assignments and grammar tests. Summer semester includes a written exam and oral examination.
