Pedagogy at the second stage of education (module 2.2) 15-PEDN2EE-NA-11
The aim of this course is to provide students with a detailed knowledge and skills connected to work with pupils at the second stage of education (4th – 6th graders). The introductory part deals with the development background of early teenaging. Central issues of this stage of education are discussed. The second part is concerned with planning, performing and evaluating of the pedagogical process. Students are given a set of tools that will enable them to design preventive and pedagogic programmes with respect to pupils’ needs and capabilities. The final part deals with a variety of aspects related to the everyday work of a teacher, such as pupils’ social integration, teacher – parent relationships, designing afterschool activities for pupils and solving educational problems. Students are required to participate actively in class discussion, complete all tasks and pass the final test.
