Note-taking for interpreters 15-NDTK-TK-11
This course aims at presenting students with basic techniques and strategies used to produce notes for consecutive interpreting. The course starts with memory training, active listening and visualisation exercises. This is followed by the presentation of useful layouts used in note taking, potential applications of superscripts, varied fonts, abbreviations and symbols to note down ideas to be interpreted consecutively. Students practice note-taking by interpreting texts that focus on economy and current affairs. Their notes are presented and discussed in class.
