After successfully completing the course:
Student knows the basic terms connected with semantics
Student knows the basic types of meaning
Student knows the basic semantic units
Student is able to perform a simple semantic analysis of a short text
Student is able to employ technical vocabulary in a discussion on semantics
Student is able to cooperate in group tasks in order to critically evaluate the content of the academic articles: the hypothesis, research method and the results; and the content of a textbook chapter.
Student is able to participate in the academic discussions, provide feedback on the contribution of other students and react to the critique of their own arguments.
Assessment criteria

F: evaluating student's presentation, feedback on the participation in classroom discussions;
S: a final written test
