This seminar will focus on the status and features of Native Canadian literatures discussed against the background of Canadian multicultural literatures. Topics to be discussed include the history and specificity of Native Canadian literatures, their grounding in Native cultures, and the role of Native writers as storytellers in the context of contemporary Native communities.
