Introduction to ethnology and cultural anthropology 09-WEAK-12
Providing students with an overview of ethnological and cultural anthropological developments. The course lasts for two semesters (60h of classes with a teacher). Students should devote 120h of their own work.
The course is devoted to ethnological and anthropological issues. We will discuss, inter alia, on issues of cultural diversity and the problems associated with multiculturalism. Topics covered will be richly illustrated with examples and multimedia content. Students will have the opportunity to learn the anthropological terminology and gain practical intercultural skills.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student:
Knows the basic themes, concepts, issues and the status of research within the subject of cultural anthropology.
Is aware of the phenomena occurring in different cultural areas.
Knows how to analyze and draw conclusions in order to create a general ethnological theory as welll as has intercultural skills.
Is able to independently conduct anthropological research, analyze and submit in writing their results.
Assessment criteria
In order to pass the first semester the students should conduct an anthropological research. The credits for the second semester will be assigned after passing the final exam.
