The student knows:
- which Turkic languages are spoken, how they developed and how they are correlated;
- the essence of Altaic theory and the regions of language and cultural contacts;
- various transcription systems;
- the objects of Turkology and its branches;
- how to employ transcriptions and transliteration to any Turkic language;
- how to u principal literature.
Assessment criteria
- participation in discussions during lectures;
