Learning outcomes
At the end of the course and after its successful completion:
-students should be in a position to understand and express themselves in simple oral and written language, in a variety of general linguistic situations which involve the exchange of information and personal views. They should also be able to comprehend essential details of a conversation between two native speakers in a variety of topics, messages, news reports and commentaries
-students should be in a position to compose short, simple texts, to convey information and personal views on various topics.
- students should be in a position to use ,spoken and written, Greek to a degree which allows them to participate and respond efficiently in
communicative situations
-students should know and be in a position to use the
appropriate morphological, syntactic, lexical and other linguistic elements as indicated in the Syllabus
-can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.
-can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
Assessment criteria
The prerequisite for the completion of the course is passing all the control tests (min. 60%), handing in all the written assignments and taking an active part in the classes (possible two unexcused absences per semester); the final mark is based on the outcome of the final written and oral exam (<60% - ndst, 60-70% -dst, 71-75% - dst+, 76-85% - db, 86-90% - db+, >91% bdb).
