Korean as a foreign language 09-PNJK-26
Student learns vocabulary and grammar of units no 1-15 (Korean I) and in Active Korean 1 (first semester) and vocabulary and grammar of units 165-30 (Korean I), Acive Korean 1 and 2 (second semester).
The allocation of units is contractual and may vary depending on the pace of work with the group.
Grammar:
- Descriptive verbs, active verbs and status verbs;
- markers of the entity (including honorifics) and object;
- Conjugation of verbs in the present tense, present continuous, past, past continuous, future: a more formal, honorifics, less formal, half-formal.
- adverbs of time and place;
- Modal verbs;
- Variation of irregular verbs (groups 1-5)
- proposal / suggestion / order grammar patterns;
- Construction of cause and effect;
- Comparative constructions,
- participles;
- expressions of exclamation;
- opposites;
- Conditional constructions;
- Parallel structures;
Use of vocabulary and grammar in communication.
Use of vocabulary and grammar in writing, translation and analysis of written texts along with use of sources, dictionaries, encyclopedias and multimedia.

Learning outcomes
Student knows the alphabet, knows how to write and read vocabulary covered in main and practise books, knows how to use vocabulary orally and in writing. Can use the grammatical structures adequately to the situation. Can explain and analyze the texts of the Korean language in terms of grammar and pragmatics to the extent covered by the subject, can speak and hold a conversation in Korean within the scope of the subject. Student is able to communicate in writing in Korean, to formulate the text in the appropriate form (short note telephone, etc.) and for given subject, knows the elementary grammar terminology in the scope of the subject, can independently use the sources of information on spelling, vocabulary, and grammar of the Korean language also beyond the curriculum.
Assessment criteria
Methods of assessment: written and oral final exam, passing of partial tests (number of tests per semester is determined individually by lecturer, possible dictations for each lesson). Possible written work. Current constant control during classes and possible tasks activities assesment.Homework.
The condition for passing is positive grade of all control tests (minimum 60.01%), possible 2 unexcused absences in a semester, the final evaluation on the basis of an oral and written examination (<60% - ndst, 60,01-70% dst, 71-75 dst +%, 76-85% db, db + 86-90%, 91%
