Learning outcomes
Students can:
- understand main ideas of standard written texts whose topics discuss those aspects of life that they are familiar with, e.g. school, work, free time
- understand relatively simple and coherent spoken utterances which discuss the topics they are familiar with or interested in
- can express their opinions and justify them briefly
- talk about various events and experiences
- write a short paragraph in which they express their views on topics that they are familiar with
- pronounce German phonemes correctly and use correct word stress/intonation
Moreover, students are familiar with the main cultural aspects of major German speaking countries
Assessment criteria
In order to get credit for the classes students have to:
- pass all the tests
- prepare and present speeches
- submit written assignments (paragraphs and letters)
- submit homework
The final grade for the course depends on the final examination result.
Students are allowed to 2 unexcused absences per term
