Portuguese as a foreign language II 09-L2P-3LH-24

The lessons are of a practical nature aimed to develop communication abilities at A1 level. They develop all the language competences at the same time.

Module learning aims

To develop communicative abilities in terms of introducing yourself, daily life, shopping at level A1. To teach basic vocabulary in the range of basic topics, such as: food, everyday activities, shops, etc. To introduce basic grammatical structures: ser/estar, present tense, past tense, pronouns, prepositions, imperative, numerals. The aim is to make students familiar with web tools and resources designed to facilitate the mastery of skills within previously defined thematic areas, which are conversant with the A1 level.

Unless indicated otherwise, learning / teaching materials are made available via MS One Cloud in the AMU intranet. Part of them is also alotted and transmitted by the teacher on an individual basis.

Methods of teaching for learning outcomes achievement

Discussions and exchange of opinions, short written forms and oral presentations (spontaneous or prepared beforehand), transcription of original texts (dialogues, songs, conversations), constructing one’s own examples on the basis of a previously model, individually prepared written forms revolving around A1 topics and requiring corresponding skills

Course module conducted remotely (e-learning)

The module is carried out in an entirely remote way (e-learning) using the Office 365 software, and its particular extensions: MS teams. AMU intranet is likewise instrumental. Evaluation, exchange of information, advice are given by means of electronic tools.

Learning outcomes

After the course the student is able to communicate in basic subjects, such as: introductions, ordering in a restaurant, itp. He uses basic vocabulary in such fields as: clothes, describing people, a description of an apartment. He/she can read simple texts (dialogues, descriptions) with understanding . He/she can write simple texts (description, short holiday letters at level A1. He/she uses the following grammatical structures: Determiners, present, ir+ inf and estar + inf, past tense, pronouns, prepositions of time and place, imperative, grading and comparison of adjectives.

Assessment criteria

Forms of assessment:
1) attendance
• No more than two unexcused absence per semester is accepted
2) active participation, oral statements, discussions, homework.
3) 4 grammar and vocabulary tests in a semester
• To receive credit, you must obtain an average of all the tests at least in the value of 60%.
4) in case of failure to obtain credit, the student has the right to take the test correction, which includes material from the entire semester.
