Languages and cultures of the world - Elective course 09-KIJS-F-11
During the course the students will be familiarized with the problems of the diversity of cultures and languages of the world. The course lasts for one semester (30h of classes with a teacher). Students should devote 30h of their own work.
The subject aims to broaden the general student`s knowledge in the field of cultural and linguistics diversity. It is conducted in the form of a "tour" via the five continents and is enriched with plenty of examples and multimedia content. Students after the course should gain general knowledge on the different language families, cultures and the links between them. They should also gain practical intercultural skills.

After completing the course the student knows the basic themes, concepts, issues and the status of research within the subject of cultural anthropology and comparative linguistics. The student has knowledge of the phenomena occurring in different cultural areas. Should know how to analyze and draw conclusions in order to create a general anthropological theory as welll as has intercultural skills.
