Module learning aims

(in Polish) Celem zajęć jest uwrażliwienie na różnice kulturowe, które mogą stać się przyczyną zakłóceń w skutecznej komunikacji. Tematyka kursu kładzie duży nacisk na wartości w wybranych kulturach narodowych, których zrozumienie może stać się kluczem do podejmowania własnych prób interpretacji kultur, a także przyczynić się do lepszego zrozumienia specyfiki komunikacyjnej danej kultury.

Learning outcomes

After the course the student:
- is familiar with basic problems connected with the intercultural communication
- knows scientific texts introducing chosen theories about intercultural communication
- is able to make an attempt of interpretation of behaviours culturally peculiar using the knowledge gained during classes
- has basic knowledge concerning issues of the translation of the text
- is able to describe the role linguistics is playing in intercultural examinations
- is aware of cultural differences

Assessment criteria

Evaluation of the activity in the course of classes (share in discussion);
The evaluation of the content of the presentation and the way of presenting it.
