PHONOLOGY

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student:
1. Can name and use in Polish and Latvian all concepts associated with phonetics and phonology
2. Can describe sounds according to the characteristics of acoustic and articulatory
3. Can determine the diphthongs
4. Knows how recognize and name the phonetic processes taking place in the Latvian language
5. Knows how determine the boundaries of syllables
6. Can emit vowel phonemes and consonant set of oppositions and neutralize opposition
7. Can carry phonological interpretation of all of Latvian language diphthongs
8. Is able to describe all suprasegmental elements
9. Knows the most important research literature in phonetics and phonology, and can use it

The criterion for evaluation:
The condition of inclusion of dialectology of Baltic languages is to pass all check tests (every second lession, minimum 61% ) and to pass the test at the end of education (minimum 61%) possible 2 unjustified absence
