Group Processes 08-SODL-PGR
1) Gain knowledge of: ways of defining a small group, stages of group development and their order, types of internal group norms and their individual and social functions, secondary socialization stages and control mechanisms in a small group, group categorization and its effects, group communication and its disturbances, social role of gossiping, ways of group decision making, factors that increase/decrease the productivity of a group, intra-group conflicts and their effects
2) Understand: differences between psychological and sociological idea of a group, group processes and influence,
3) Gain abilities to: understand, summarize and comment on academic articles devoted to the subject of small groups, use properly concepts and ideas related to group processes, construct longer oral speech: a voice in a discussion, compare different theories, summarize a discussion, conclude, work in a group.
