Methods of interpretation of settlement pattern remains, including architectural records 05-MIPO-11-AR-ArchU
The aim of the course is to present students the current state of research and the research methods of the settlement studies. Issues to be discussed include also the settlement analysis around the oldest architectural structures, mostly churches.

A student learns about the settlement archaeology, ways of studying the changes in the settlement in Poland through the architecture and its influence on settlement centres; understands the general principles conductive to settlement and the influence of centres and climatic maxima on the shape of the settlement map; can identify medieval settlement structures; identify elements shaping the settlement; draw the range of settlement sites; comprehend the subject literature; use the notions and terms related to the subject; interpret the acquired sources in the wider cultural context.
