Research procedures on different sites with ancient architecture remains. Building techniques, various structures and formal solutions are thoroughly discussed, as well as presentation of methods of their study. Archaeological terminology, importance and role of archaeological architecture research is taken into consideration.

A student learns about the history of architecture, the research methods used in archaeological and architectural research;
understands: the significance of architectural and archaeological research in the classical and material culture studies;
can: identify and characterise architectural structures on a basic level; comprehend the subject literature; employ advanced notions and terms related to the subject properly.
